2nd Girl’s Inter School Tennis Tournament 201909-Nov-2019

Unison World School organized the 2nd Girl’s Inter School Tennis Tournament 2019. Five teams from reputed institutions of Dehradun participated in the tournament. Mr. Vijendra Chauhan, Secretary General, Uttaranchal Tennis Association, graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Apart from promoting Tennis in the state, he has also been playing the game himself. In the ITF seniors circuit, he has been participating very actively. This year he participated in European Masters Games and won Silver medal in Doubles in the 45+ category. The event commenced with the pledge by Basu Thakur, Captain of the UWS Tennis Team. This was followed by a speech by Dr. Mona Khanna, Vice Principal, Unison World School. League Matches followed with teams placed in Category U-17 and U- 14. The tournament concluded with an Award Ceremony and the chief guest gave away the prizes and certificates to the position holders. In the U-14 category the 3rd position was taken by UWS Team B. In the second position was UWS Team A and the first position was bagged by Welham Girls School. In the U-17 category, the third position was bagged by Welham Girls School, the second position was taken by UWS Team B and the first position was bagged by Kasiga School. The overall trophy was jointly shared by UWS and Welham Girls School. The tournament ended with the chief guest applauding the performance of the teams.
