Inter-School App Development Workshop + Hackathon16-Aug-2020

Maa Anandmayee Memorial School had conducted an Inter-School App Development Workshop + Hackathon commencing from Sunday 19th July, 2020. This Inter-School app making competition continued for four weeks and students of Grades V to VIII were taught to create their own apps using MIT App Inventor. Three girls from Unison World School - Shreya Agrawal (grade 8), Nitya Agarwal (grade 7) and Kaveesh Kaur Bhasin (grade 6) had participated in the same. They learnt new techniques of working with different app blocks, doodling, creating games and quizzes on the Android platform. During the workshop a competition was held in which UWS girls made a ‘Rakhi Secret Message App’ for their brothers. For the final day of submission, the students of Unison World School had selected the topic of ‘Clean Water’ and ‘Sanitation’ and they created an App named, “Water Conservation” in which they displayed the usage and techniques to purify rain water and putting it to good use. The App introduced a quiz and a game for collecting rain water and how to clean it. The chief guest for the event was Mr. R. Ramanan, Mission Director, Atal Innovation Mission. The results were announced on August 16, 2020. Unison World School secured a position amongst the top 5 schools.
