Report on Spic Macay Event 04-Nov-2022

In an endeavor to help students learn and experience firsthand, culture from the Central European country – Hungary, right at their doorstep, Jasmine house on Friday, November 4, 2022 hosted the musical troupe ‘MUZSIKÁS’ – Hungarian Folk Musicians, under the aegis of The Hungarian Cultural Centre in collaboration with SPIC MACAY, at the Unison World School. MUZSIKÁS, with a career span of 45 years, is the most renowned and popular Hungarian folk music ensemble worldwide. MUZSIKÁS, the winners of the WOMEX Award for World Music, pioneered the global popularity of Hungarian folk music that is now a well-established niche in the roots and world music scenes. The event commenced with the lamp lighting and welcome ceremony followed by a little brief up given by the Academic Vice Prefect about the Hungarian folk music. Students were delighted to witness the performance by the MUSZIKAS, showcasing the Hungarian Folk Music which was beyond words to describe its versatility as the wonderful show left the audience spellbound. The troupe was felicitated, and the programme ended with the vote of thanks and national anthem.
