“"A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way and shows the way." —John C. Maxwell The Second Edition of BSAI Workshop on Student Leadership was held in Doon School on May 6 and 7, 2024. The four neutral prefects from our school attended the workshop along with the prefects from more than 20 schools from all over India. The prefects - Shreya Aggarwal, Ishya Jain, Aurvi Gupta and Lavanya Munjal, gained remarkable experiences and lessons at the workshop. This event brought together young leaders from over 20 schools across India, providing them with a platform to hone their leadership skills under the guidance of some of the nation's most esteemed educators and professionals. The sessions conducted by Mr.Vineet Pancchi (Poet and Filmmaker), Dr. Sanjeev Chopra (IAS & Former Director, Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration), Ms. Sangeeta Kain (Principal of Welham Boys' School), Mr. Philip Burret (Former Deputy Headmaster, Doon School), Mr. Vinay Pande (Former Head of School, The Lawrence School, Mr. Kamal Ahuja (Deputy Headmaster, Doon School), and Ms. Stuti Kuthiala ( Deputy Head, Pastoral) were a blend of life lessons and interactive activities. They emphasized the importance of qualities such as teamwork, open communication, and humility in leadership. The use of case studies facilitated a deeper understanding of conflict resolution, while discussions with fellow prefects allowed for the exchange of effective strategies and best practices. The two-day workshop proved to be an enriching experience, empowering the students to recognize their strengths and fostering their development into adept leaders. The insights gained from this event align with our vision of nurturing future leaders who are not only innovative but also empathetic and effective communicators.
