11th Annual Terry Fox Run14-Apr-2023

A group of 27 students of grades 9th to 12th participated in the 11th Annual Terry Fox Run organised by Indo-Canadian Cancer Research Foundation on 14th April, 2023 at The Doon School, Dehradun. This is an annual non-competitive charity event held in numerous regions around the world in commemoration of Canadian cancer activist Terry Fox, and his Marathon of Hope, and to raise money for cancer research. The students completed 4.5 kilometres running and celebrating the idea behind the Marathon of Hope along with approximately 1500 participants of all ages and abilities. They learned about the inspirational journey of the young man who overcame medical adversities including leg amputation caused by his osteosarcoma and started his “Marathon of Hope” with 47 kilometres run per day with a prosthetic leg and during his chemotherapy for the fund raising of cancer research. They pledged their support towards spreading awareness about cancer prevention and cures. Students were presented with the run T shirts and certificates.
