Saree Draping Workshop27-Jul-2024

On 27th July 2024, a culturally enriching Saree Draping Workshop was organized for an esteemed foreign delegation from Rangi Ruru Girls' School, New Zealand. The workshop aimed to introduce the delegates to the rich cultural heritage of India through the traditional attire of the saree. The event included a photography session to capture the memorable moments of the delegates dressed in sarees. The workshop was attended by a teacher and five student delegates from Rangi Ruru Girls' School, who showed great enthusiasm in learning about Indian traditions. The agenda included a warm welcome and introduction to the significance of the saree in Indian culture, an informative session on the history and types of sarees, and a hands-on draping experience led by Ms. Smita Kaur and Ms. Amola Chauhan. Participants engaged in an interactive session, asking questions and seeking assistance, and gained insights into the cultural significance of saree colors, patterns, and occasions. After the draping session, a professional photography session was organized. The delegates, adorned in beautifully draped sarees and bindis, participated in a photoshoot that included individual portraits, group photographs, and candid shots capturing the joy and camaraderie among the participants. The Saree Draping Workshop was a resounding success, providing the foreign delegation with an understanding and appreciation of Indian culture through the traditional attire of the saree. The photography session added a special touch, allowing the delegates to take home beautiful memories of their time in India. The event fostered cultural exchange and left a lasting impression on all participants.
