1st Inter School Girls’ Basketball Tournament30-Aug-2019

Sports’ is an integral part of life at Unison World School, Dehradun. The school held its first Inter School Girls’ Basketball Tournament, on Saturday, August 30, 2019. Ms Divya Dwivedi, Principal UWS, declared the event Open. The opening ceremony was followed by the pledge administered to the teams by grade XII Sports Prefect, Ms Ishika Agarwal. A total of 8 schools participated in this tournament. The teams were divided into Pool A and Pool B and three rounds of league matches commenced with the teams playing against each other in their respective pools. The Chief Guest for the occasion, Col. Taranjit Singh, Commandant Supply Depot, Dehradun applauded the efforts of the participating schools and gave away the awards to the deserving teams. In his short speech he advised the girls to encash on their strengths and overcome their weaknesses and encouraged and commended the girls for their stamina and agility in the game. The 3rd place was bagged by Wynberg Allen School, Dehradun. The final match was played between Welham Girls School and Unison World School. The match was won by Welham Girls School, Dehradun by 37 Points. The event concluded with the Vote of Thanks followed by the national Anthem.
